The short answer: WashTech shows you more before and after the job. You see a starting price before anyone visits, photos of every gutter run when we finish, and a published lights price, from $900 then about half each later year. Men In Kilts quotes after a site visit and publishes no lights price. Its written 48-hour re-clean promise is its strongest point, so weigh it against our walkthrough before the crew leaves.
WashTech publishes this page. We read Men In Kilts' pages and the rating sites below on November 5, 2026.

One company or a local franchise
A franchise is a local business that runs under a national brand. Men In Kilts splits Metro Vancouver between three location pages, and each page names its own cities.
| Men In Kilts location | Cities its page names |
|---|---|
| Vancouver | Vancouver, Richmond |
| North Shore | North Vancouver, West Vancouver |
| Burnaby | Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody |

With us, one company and one owner, Aidan, answer for every job, on one phone line. With Men In Kilts, you deal with the location your address falls under, though all three pages name the same local owner. If you own two properties in different cities, ask whether one quote can cover both, and check your own address with both companies.
What outside sites say
Google shows Men In Kilts at 4.9 and us at 5.0. We found one Google listing for Men In Kilts in Metro Vancouver, so the 4.9 may not separate its three locations. A HomeStars profile for the brand exists, but it sits in Calgary, so we left its score out. Both companies hold an A+ at BBB.
Windows
We rinse outside panes with deionized water, meaning water with its minerals removed. That leaves nothing behind to dry into spots. Before any work starts, you and the technician walk the glass and note existing scratches, etching and failed seals, so the record protects you. If paint, silicone or concrete sits on the glass, that is a separate job, and we quote it first. Our window cleaning page has the full list.
Men In Kilts' window page names screen cleaning, glass on decks and balconies, and hard water stain removal. Crews use mops, scrubs and squeegees, with water-fed poles for high panes. It does not state the water it rinses with, or mention tracks.
Gutters

We check every downspout is clear, and you get before and after photos of every run, so you can see gutters you can't reach. A blockage below the elbow means taking the downspout apart, which we quote before starting. We can seal small leaks too. Budget from our $350 minimum, then use the gutter cleaning cost guide to see what moves the price.
Men In Kilts works section by section, by hand and with vacuums, cleans the downspouts and checks the work with cameras. Its page does not list photos as part of the service, so ask what you receive.
Pressure and house washing
The two services look alike on paper. Both inspect first, set pressure by surface and finish with a check of the work. Men In Kilts' pressure page lists driveways, walkways, decks, fences, patios, retaining walls and pools, plus oil, rust and graffiti removal. Its house washing page describes a low-pressure detergent wash and lists rust and clay stain removal.
Our pressure washing covers driveways, patios, stone, siding and decks, and our house washing uses biodegradable detergents at low pressure on stucco, brick, vinyl and fibre cement. If your job is mostly a stain or moss, send photos to both and ask how they would treat it.
Holiday lights
Men In Kilts' holiday lights page covers design, installation and removal, with clips and timers, and it readies your lights for storage after the season. It gives no price, saying cost depends on the size and complexity of the display. It does not say who owns the lights or what later years cost. It is a brand page, so confirm the details with your local location.
We publish ours. You buy the lights in year one, from a $900 minimum, and own them from then on. Homes typically run $1,300 to $1,500, and bigger ones closer to $2,400. Later years are labour only, at about half, with a $500 minimum. We take them down in January and store them.
- $900 first year$1,900
- $1,400 first year$2,800
- $2,400 first year$4,800
Our math, before tax. Men In Kilts publishes no price, so it has no bar here. Ask its location for a three-season figure and compare it to these.

Four questions will give you a fair comparison: who owns the lights, what next year costs, who stores them, and who fixes a dead strand in December. Our Christmas light page answers all four.

Practical questions
Which Men In Kilts location would serve me?
Use the table above, then confirm on its site. Vancouver's page names Vancouver and Richmond only.
How does payment work?
Men In Kilts' FAQ says it takes card details at booking and payment is due after the job. Your WashTech quote sets out the payment terms before you agree.
Do I have to sign up for a schedule?
Men In Kilts' FAQ offers monthly, seasonal or annual schedules and does not mention contracts. It also says past customers should request a new quote, because pricing may change. We quote each job, and you book when you need us.
How do I compare two quotes?
Ask both to list downspouts, photos, screens and any brightening as separate lines. Send us your address and a couple of photos, and you will have a price back quickly in most cases.
